Lisa Lichtig is an inspiring healer, physician and community leader. As an integrative holistic family physician, functional medicine doctor, midwife, mother and plant spirit medicine healer, Dr. Lisa, as she is fondly referred to, has served individuals and families for over 25 yrs.  In 2003, Lisa further devoted her life to serving community as an initiated firekeeper and ritual leader for Sacred Fire - a non-profit community service organization that provides a doorway for people and communities around the world to learn, grow and heal.  Lisa facilitates local community and womens fires and globally leads Young Women’s Initiation into Adulthood.

Academic studies, clinical exposure and life experiences with people of many cultures prepared Lisa for an unexpected spiritual calling in 2000 to become a Mara’akame or shamanic healer and ceremonial leader in the Wixárika (Huichol) Tradition.  Through a rigorous 15 year apprenticeship under elder Tsaurixika Don Elias Cowan, Lisa was initiated and inducted into the Sacred Fire Healing Ministry as a Mara’akame in 2014 through the oversight of traditional elder and Tsaurixika Don Jose Sandoval.  She now offers traditional shamanic healing and life counseling for individuals and couples along with offering healing through group retreats.  Lisa also coordinates traditional ceremonies and pilgrimage to sacred sites throughout the year and assists Tsaurixika Don David Wiley in the training of future healers.

Her down to earth style, devotion and deep listening opens doors for people from all walks of life to connect with the Divine Living World.  She lives on a beautiful knoll in the mountains of North Carolina with her family  and the many other beings all around!
