An Intimate Relationship with Plants and the Human Spirit
Plant Spirit Medicine, Level 2
WHEN:
June 7–14, 2025 and September 6–13, 2025
WHERE:
Blue Deer Center
TUITION:
$3,987 per session, Early bird price $3750 per session.
Are You Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Journey with the Plants?
Plant Spirit Medicine touches people on a profound level. As the plants bring balance and healing, they awaken something deep within—an ancient remembrance of a time when we were all connected, when our relationship with all living beings was at the heart of existence. They help us rediscover our purpose, our inner home, and the deeper reason we are here.
Perhaps you found your way to this path through Eliot Cowan’s book Plant Spirit Medicine, the Growing Awareness of Nature online course, or another call. Something has stirred your spirit, drawing you to learn more. And naturally, when something moves you deeply, you feel compelled to share it with others.
What is Level 2?
Our next Plant Spirit Medicine training begins in June 2025. The first step—after completing the prerequisite Growing Awareness of Nature online course—is to embark on Level 2.
Transitioning from Level 1 to Level 2
Level 1 introduced you to the natural world as alive; it introduced you to the natural world as an expression of relationships. You explored the foundational principles of Plant Spirit Medicine, discovering how body, mind, and spirit influence our lives.
In Level 1, you explored:
How to connect deeply with the natural world through respect and reciprocity.
The language of plants through the seasonal worldview and the Five Phases that live within us.
The practice of deep sensory engagement with plants and the landscape.
How to enter a dream state to journey to your teacher and plants, receiving guidance directly.
The Level 1 on-line training gave you an orientation to Plant Spirit Medicine. Level 2 delves deeper into the application of this healing modality . . . and expands your way of seeing the world.
Level 2: An Intimate Relationship with Plants and the Human Spirit
Level 2 is an immersive, in-person training designed to expand your understanding and practice of Plant Spirit Medicine. Spanning two weeks (first week in June and 2nd week in September), this course deepens your relationship with the plants through direct experience while teaching how the Five Phases manifest both in the world and within each of us. This training will help you recognize what people truly need to restore balance and live in harmony.
Course Breakdown
Session 1 ( June 7–14) A deep dive into the plants and the seasons, with experiential time in nature complemented by classroom learning.
Session 2 (September 6–13) The foundations of healing: understanding what constitutes balance and health, what causes people to go out of alignment, and how to find out what they need to return to balance.
Why In-Person Learning Matters
While online learning provides a strong foundation, nothing compares to the depth of understanding gained through in-person experience. Just as we build relationships with the plants, we also strengthen our connection with life itself and the forces that shape health and well-being. Learning in a shared space allows us to access wisdom beyond books and theory—something felt, something embodied.
With over 25 years of experience teaching this medicine, we know that the insights gained from in-person training are invaluable.
Where We Learn Matters: A Sacred Place
Level 2 takes place at Blue Deer Center, a sacred place in nature and the home of Plant Spirit Medicine. Nestled among the serene mountains of Upstate New York, this land holds a quiet power—inviting you to step beyond the ordinary into a space of stillness, wonder, healing, transformation, and awe.
Here, amidst whispering trees and the rhythmic flow of a peaceful river, the dream stirring in so many hearts becomes tangible—the dream of embracing the sacred, of awakening to the aliveness and presence of all beings.
Whether you seek solitude, community, learning, or a deeper communion with nature and spirit, this sacred place welcomes you home. Blue Deer Center founded by Eliot Cowan, exists as a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing this wisdom. People from around the world come here to renew their sense of purpose, belonging, and connection to the sacred within all beings.
Becoming a Healer
By the end of Level 2, you will know how to learn directly from the plants and understand the fundamental principles of Plant Spirit Medicine. Whether you choose to continue to Level 3 to train as a healer or feel that you have received what you came for, Level 2 stands as a complete and transformative experience on its own.
If you are called to go further, Level 3 will guide you into the hands-on practices of being a healer—pulse taking, treatment approaches, and more.
